This cute family had me photograph their family to help document their time spent in New Castle and Western Colorado. They moved to Denver shortly after these photographs were taken. I think we all shared the same love of the view of the hogback mountains in New Castle- so we had to make sure those we featured them in a few of their photographs.
This family- from Battlement Mesa- has the cutest kids! I loved all their coordinated outfits! Here are a few of my favorites from their portrait session (pictured in some of the products they ordered) taken here in Rifle, CO. The Gilstrap’s. Their cute Christmas cards! The front is pictured above and the back of the card is below. One of my favorite ways to display photos! You can’t always hang every favorite photo from your photo session on your wall… so put it in a book! This is a sample of a custom designed Photo Pano Book. Each page is a thick photographic paper bound to lay flat and display all your favorite photographs from your portrait session.
This cute couple is excited to be expecting their first child in December! They already have the name Austin picked out for the sweet little boy! I can’t wait to meet him and take his photographs! They will have a beautiful boy soon!

I just love this family! They are so much fun- as I’m sure you can tell from the photos. We took their family photos here in Rifle, CO. I think one of the best parts was how excited their 5 year boy was about the whole experience! He was cracking me up the whole time! He just could not wait to get started taking photographs and to see what I was going to do with all my equipment. I think I’ll have a little photo assistant soon! He already was helping me out by telling me I had to take the lens cap off!
Their youngest child is a bit more somber. But as soon as I told her to say “Daddy wears diapers” she cracked up! It worked every time- especially when her dad Dad said it while shaking his booty! Unfortunately, I had to follow suit and do the same little dance while standing on a fence and saying “Ashley wears diapers!” Yea, I usually look like an idiot when taking photographs- but at least it gets good expressions!
Pictured below is the Christmas Cards that I designed for them. I do custom designed double sided photo cards. They are perfect for this upcoming holiday season! Don’t they look great with their perfectly coordinated outfits!? Such a beautiful family!
This cute little family had to hurry and schedule a photo shoot before they moved. Thankfully they made time for their family portraits even in the craziness of packing things up. They have since moved in Colorado Springs, since Eddie is in the Air force now. We will miss them, but this will be a good thing for their family. I love the beautiful blossoms- spring is a great time to get your portraits taken. Look in the pictures below at how cute the little girls’ hair is done- such beautiful girls. The youngest was great at getting everyone to smile- she’s quite the character!
Click the link above to see all of Heather and Cory’s engagement photos. Cory and Heather love Western Colorado and the outdoors. Heather just recently transferred here to Rifle from Brighton, Colorado to be with Cory. Cory’s parents moved to Rifle when he was a senior in high school from Brighton. Cory later went back to Brighton for work and through a friend met Heather. Cory and Heather are now engaged to be married June 23, 2012. I had a blast photographing this cute couple enjoy their engagement photographs taken here in Rifle, CO.

They have 3 beautiful children- the youngest girl was a super model throwing out all sorts of cute poses. I loved it! I also love their coordinated outfits. This is a great example of what to wear to your family portraits. Choose a color scheme (typically a few colors) that everyone will wear- but everyone doesn’t have to be exactly matching. Solid colors mixed with a bit of pattern look good. You can wear layers to add extra interest. But really the only rule to determining what to wear is be you and wear what you are comfortable with and like.

And another slideshow I have created of the Anderson family’s photo shoot done in Carbondale.
Check out the Halper’s slideshow of their photos done in Rifle, Colorado.
I was super excited to do this photo shoot in Carbondale. I just love the views of Mt. Sopris! The beautiful family that I got to photograph, trains show horses at Skyline Ranch-what an amazing job! The parents have two adorable kids, a three-year old boy and about a nine-month old girl.
A couple of weeks ago I was able to take some photos for the cute Halper family. It was a little bit of an adventure getting up to our photo spot. It required a bit of offroading in a jeep on some slightly muddy trails from the recent rain we had received. In fact, I think a had to Photoshop a few mud stains off their clothes. But it was worth it- we had beautiful views of Rifle and the surrounding areas. There was a field full of Colorado’s columbine flowers, unfortunately a lot of them were looking pretty sad. In short, Mayara is from Brazil, came to the states a few years ago, met Eddie, got married, and now have a beautiful little girl, who’s about 18 months old. They decided to get some family photos done while Mayara’s little sister was here in Rifle visiting. This is the first time her sister has been to the U.S. She was a great help with the photoshoot.
Last Saturday I had the opportunity to take photos for this beautiful family after they completed their fifth annual The Gift of Life and Breath 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk. The Zollingers started The Gift of Life and Breath Foundation right before their father passed away from lung cancer. They learned first hand the difficulties faced with a deadly cancer that is rarely diagnosed in its early stages:
“On April 29, 2004 our lives were to be forever changed … Gary was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. Having never smoked, the diagnosis came with shock and disbelief. But the biopsy and CT scan revealed a deadly disease that had gone undetected in its early stage and now left very little hope of a cure. Determined to beat tremendous odds, Gary did everything he could to preserve his life for his family. This included standard cancer treatments as well as a rarely done double lung transplant. However, despite his heroic efforts, Gary succumbed to lung cancer September 9, 2007.” – shared by Thelissa Zollinger from their website
The Gift of Life and Breath is dedicated to raising awareness and funding to support the critical research needed for early detection of lung cancer. The Gary L. and Thelissa Zollinger Early Detection of Lung Cancer Endowment raises funds to assist AMC Cancer Fund and the University of Colorado Cancer Center in their efforts to give hope, provide research and make possible the gift of life and breath. Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among both men and women in the US, often it is diagnosed too late for treatment. For more information or to donate please check out their website
Hope you enjoy the pictures of this special family.
